Beacon metrics: pick three that matter

Choose a small set of leading indicators tied to value moments, not vanity numbers.

Great metrics do two things: guide decisions and predict outcomes. Anchor them to value moments users actually care about, and instrument them so teams can see progress every sprint.

  • Pick 1–2 activation beacons tied to first value
  • Pick 1–2 engagement beacons tied to repeat value
  • Review weekly; prune any metric that doesn’t inform a decision
